Cool Broadcasting Bringing Personality to Radio! Country Memories with host Steve Goetzman
Back in June of 1977 Steve Goetzman joined Exile as their drummer. A year later Exile hit it big with an international pop hit Kiss Me All Over. As they describe the experience one day they were working clubs for the door and the next week they were in LA in a limo to tape Midnight Special. The rest is history. Exile became an award winning legendary band with 18 hits of which 11 were number 1’s have sold 8 million records internationally and have 11 CMA and ACM nominations. Steve was nominated for Drummer of the Year. In addition Exile songs were recorded by acts such as Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Janie Fricke, Tracy Lawrence, Travis Tritt, Diamond Rio, Restless Heart and Clay Walker to name a few. They also have a BMI Airplay Award for 9 Million performances on Radio and BMI Songwriter of the Century Award. Who better to host a show dealing with the music of the 80’s 90’s and early 2000’s than someone who was right in the middle of this exciting time in country music and was part of the hit process during this time. Country Memories will not only take the audience back on a journey of the music and artists that made country music so popular but we will have guests drop by the studio and talk about the times and music. Artists like Ronnie Milsap, Larry Gatlin, Randy Owen from Alabama, Crystal Gayle and Janie Fricke to name a few. We will also bring in the writers that wrote the songs we all remember so well. On top of that every artist whether it is Keith Urban. Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley or Carrie Underwood were all influenced by the music of the 80’s 90’s and 2000’s and we will have them join Steve in the studio to talk about their influences. Steve makes for the perfect host as he is knowledgeable and well known in the industry. While most retro country shows tell the audience about the songs and the artists this will be different as our host has been part of the hit making machine of the time and with the added feature of acts dropping by the studio this show will be fast paced fun and entertaining. In addition mixing the new acts with the legends in interviews will sure capture the total country audience.
